Stewart & Stevenson purchased Calgary, Alberta-based Crown Energy, manufacturer of drilling, workover and well servicing rigs, stimulation and other oilfield service equipment, in February 2007. With this acquisition, Stewart & Stevenson became the leading North American based supplier of stimulation equipment and added leading edge rig technology to its mix of oilfield equipment products that include coiled tubing, cementing, nitrogen pumping, power generation and electrical systems, as well as engines, transmissions, and materials handling equipment.
